Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale Movie Now Available on Funimation, Crunchyroll


Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale

OtakuFeed found that Funimation and Crunchyroll unveiled that they would be adding the Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale film to their streaming services’ catalog. The anime is available for watchers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. In Addition, Funimation will be airing variants with English subtitles or dubs.

The Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film was screened in Japan in February 2017 and marketed around 308,376 tickets for 425,762,760 yen (about US$3.76 million) on its initial weekend. The film was the first-ever anime film to place #1 in weekend attendance and weekend box office receipt totals following Makoto Shinkai’s your name. The film has been shown in over 7,500 cinemas in 27 countries globally.

Original light novel author Kawahara made the plot for the film. Tomohiko Ito came back from the two TV anime shows and the anime special to manage the movie at A-1 Pictures. Shingo Adachi also came back from the TV anime to create the characters while maintaining abec’s original character sketches, and Yuki Kajiura came back to compose the music.
