OtakuFeed found out that a stage greeting event for Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya – Licht Nameless Girl (Gekijōban Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Licht – Namae no Nai Shōjo), the brand new film in the Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya franchise, was announced yesterday that the anime franchise would be receiving a sequel. However, the Official website for the movie did not exhibit any other info.

The film was released in Japan on Friday. Minami Kuribayashi does the theme song “Just the truth.”

Sentai Filmworks has permitted the film and intends to publish it on home video and select digital plugs. 

Initially created as an alternative world to mega-hit series Fate/stay the night, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya now holds on to its series as a bonafide success and fan-favorite show. In the newest feature film, its most popular characters face the most unexpected situations! The Ainsworth family tries to preserve the world, but the price is sacrificing magical girl Miyu — but Miyu’s brother, Shirou, won’t let them have her without a fuss. So now it’s up to Illya to step in and find a resolution that will save not only Miyu, but the whole world.

Hiroyama’s initial manga re-instates the Fate/stay night character Illyasviel von Einzbern in an alternative world as a magical girl. Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya appeared in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine from 2007 to 2008. Hiroyama then released various sequel manga series.

The first television anime aired in 2013. The second season, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!, was streamed in 2014, the third season, named Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz! in 2015. The fourth and newest season, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!!, aired in July 2016. Sentai Filmworks published the first three seasons on home video. Crunchyroll streamed the fourth season as it broadcasted, and it also aired the first three seasons.

Gekijōban Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Sekka no Chikai, the initial anime film in the franchise, launched in Japan in August 2017.
