OtakuFeed found that Amazon unveiled Shinya Umemura and Eiji Hashimoto’s Chiruran Shinsengumi Requiem (Chiruran: Shinsengumi Chinkon-ka) manga will be entering its closing arc with the 32nd volume, which will be issued on January 20, 2022.
Umemura handles the story, and Hashimoto makes the manga. The duo published the manga in the inaugural edition of Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Comic Zenon magazine in 2010. Coamix issued the 31st volume on September 18.
Mangamo is issuing the manga in English digitally under the name of The Shinsengumi.
Plot:
The Shinsengumi were a specialized police force in Japan in the 19th century that was only established to protect the Shogunate. However, they eventually committed themselves to reestablish peace in Kyoto. Hijikata Toshizo is accountable for the demise of the Shinsengumi, but he used to be one of them.
The manga encouraged a stage play conversion in April 2017.
Umemura and Hashimoto published a comedy spinoff manga named Chiruran Nibun no Ichi in Monthly Comic Zenon in May 2016. The spinoff manga got an anime series of shorts that aired in January 2017. Crunchyroll aired the series under the name Chiruran 1/2.
