Bocchi the Rock!
OtakuFeed found that Aniplex’s official YouTube channel announced the intro and ending songs for the anime of Aki Hamaji’s four-panel manga Bocchi the Rock! Last Sunday. The anime’s “Kessoku Band” with Ikumi Hasegawa (voice of Ikuyo Kita) on lyrics is doing the intro and ending songs.
Singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi composed the lyrics, and Otoha, a member of the musical group 48foureight, comprised the music for the intro song named “Seishun Complex” (Youth Complex).
The KANA-BOON band’s vocalist and guitarist, Maguro Taniguchi, composed the lyrics and tune for the ending song “Distortion!!”
The manga’s narrative observes Hitori “Bocchi-chan” (“Loner”) Gotō, a lonesome high school girl whose nature lies in her guitar. She does nothing every day but strums her guitar alone at home. However, one day she meets Nijika Ijichi, looking for a guitarist for her group called “Kessoku Band.”
The main cast comprises:
- Yoshino Aoyama as Hitori “Bocchi-chan” (“Loner”) Gotō
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Nijika Ijichi
- Saku Mizuno as Ryо̄ Yamada
- Ikumi Hasegawa as Ikuyo Kita
Keiichirō Saitō (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. Regards) handles the anime at CloverWorks. Erika Yoshida (Lupin III: Part IV) directs and composes the anime’s scripts. Kerorira (animation supervisor for Wonder Egg Priority) is devising the characters.
The anime aired on the Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV channels on October 9, and it also runs on MRT Miyazaki Broadcasting, MBS, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, and AT-X. Abema airs the anime simultaneously as the earliest television broadcast. In addition, Crunchyroll is also airing anime.
